This is the first yoga video posted here. It was shot Bali, Indonesia with four beautiful girls ages 16 and 17 as the models.
While this was their first yoga class, they were easy to work with both because of their youth, and because they are trained dancers with a dancers grace. They practice traditional Balinese dance, one has even traveled to several countries to perform.
The whole process was different because they spoke no English at all, and I only know a little Indonesian. I thought I could get away with my usual method of doing videos which is simply to record the instructions as the poses were taught. That didn’t work out so well with me having to use some Indonesian, and the translator’s voice overwhelming the audio at times. So, I ended up using voice over for the entire video.
One thing I did with this video that is unique is that I interspersed scenes from around Bali with the yoga class. It became a kind of a travel video as well as a good solid yoga class. It’s nice to hold the poses while viewing beautiful scenes from around Bali.
